Eines Tages (one day...)

The exhibition brings together drawings, collages and objects. Subject and primary material for all the works shown was the map. Next to it's welcoming objective character and it's essential function as an instrument for orientation, the map also contains moments of interpretation, projection and invention. So every cartographic information is at the same time not just reality and abstraction, but also definition and speculation. These ambiva-lences were integral part in the developing process of the works.
The title "Eines Tages" (eng."one day") marks another dimension in the works. They deal with time. The topic "map" is used as an opportunity to locate oneself in time, in the past, the present and the future. Questions were posed directly to history and ones own biography, the map appears as a means of assuring oneself and to revise, as authority and help, as a corrective and plan, as documentation and creation of (one's own) world.
